John E. Mack was a Pulitzer Prize winning psychiatrist who would spend much of the 1990s conducting an in-depth study of 200 men and women who claimed to have been abducted by alien beings. His goal was to study the phenomena through the lens of science and to try to figure out whether the experiences were a form of mental illness.
