In the early hours of March 8, 2014, Malaysia Flight 370 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia headed for Beijing, China. The pilot was a 53-year-old veteran with years of flying experience under his belt. The plane was a Boeing 777-200ER, considered to be one of the safest at airliners at the time. The 227 passengers and 12 crew were from countries all over the world. Nothing about the night was out of the ordinary. That is until the plane disappeared from radar a little over 45 minutes after take off.
