History Creeps presents That's Odd Episode 51 - Mandela Effect vs Pop Culture Effect
On this special episode of That’s Odd, Carter joins Chris and Johnny for an exploration into the phenomena known as the Mandela Effect. The idea that a whole section of society shared false memories regarding specific moments and items from throughout recent history was brought to public awareness in 2010 when self-described “paranormal consultant” Fiona Broome shared her false memories of the early death of Nelson Mandela. Since then, the internet has exploded with all kinds of instances in which most of the population share a memory that really does not exist. What’s the deal with this strange occurrence? Has there been a weird shift in the time stream? Are we all living in a parallel universe? Or is it merely the influence of Pop Culture Effect?
