t’s that time of year again! Matt and Brian go back to where it all started for The 2-pt Conversation, and do the annual Division by Division preview and predictions. As always, they start off with a division that resonates close to home, and look at the AFC East, team by team, game by game, for a fun outlook on 2022.
The Rams have reached the pinnacle again for the 2021-22 season. WIth making big signings and trades, they built a super team and it paid off under the guide of HC Sean McVay. Between the 2001-02 Super Bowl loss, to Sean McVay’s arrival, the Rams had quite the dark period, becoming irrelevant amongst the best teams in the NFL, with horrible draft selections, aging players, and a revolving door for coaches.
On this episode, Matt and Andrew are joined by Brian to discuss the 2008 Draft, and if the Rams drafted Matt Ryan, instead of DE Chris Long. Could Ryan have done enough to overcome and give hope to the Rams? Could he have made it to the McVay era? The 2-pt guys try and figure it out.

Andrew and Matt look back to 1976. There was an opportunity by Bengals and Browns legend Paul Brown to name Bill Walsh the new head coach of the Bengals, as Brown’s successor. That did not happen, Walsh took some time away before accepting a job in San Francisco, and the rest is history. What happens if it did however? How does it effect the Bengals? 49ers of the 80’s? and so many more.
For the last episode for May’s theme of “Players Who Left the Game Early”, Matt and Andrew look back at one of the most ferocious runners in NFL History. Oilers legend Earl Campbell! The power back dominated against defenders with a strong style that ended up cutting his career short and effecting his quality of life.

The NFL off-season lull is firmly here, so Matt and Brian decide to try and spice things up. They each respectively pick their Top 5 Teams/Personalities with the Most to Gain, and their Top 5 Most to Lose.
Many years ago, the Denver Broncos were one of the most consistent teams of the NFL. Under HC Mike Shanahan, the Broncos saw much success. However, in 2008, with 3 games left to go, Denver just had to win 1 game to clinch the division and get a home playoff game. However, they could not. What might have happened had the team closed out the season with a playoff appearance? Where does it leave Mike Shanahan? Jay Cutler? Brandon Marshall? Tim Tebow? Peyton Manning? Andrew and Matt do their best to examine the possibilities.
