Episode 57 - The Garibaldi - Meucci Museum with Professor William Castello
Nico sit's down with William Castello, a member of the board of the Garibaldi Meucci Museum to talk all things, Giuseppe Garibaldi and Antonio Meucci.
Owned by the Order Sons of Italy, the Garibaldi - Meucci Museum was the home of the inventor of the telephone, Antonio Meucci. (We talk about why he's doesn't have the official credit) and at one point in time the unifier of Italy, Giuseppe Garibaldi lived here with him. We talk about both men's history along with the Museum's history and how the Order of Sons of Italy acquired it.
Check out the museum and plan your visit at https://www.garibaldimeuccimuseum.com/ The Mission of The Garibaldi Meucci Museum is to collect, hold, own, maintain, preserve, and exhibit historical objects and artifacts relating to the lives of General Giuseppe Garibaldi and Antonio Meucci; promote an understanding of Italian-American heritage and a positive image of Italian-Americans; conduct educational, cultural, and artistic programming designed to eliminate ethnic and racial prejudice for a diverse and growing audience.
