That's Odd Episode 23 - Two Totally Different Kinds of Killers

This week, Chris and Johnny explore two very different kinds of killers. One would terrify almost everyone she met, eventually committing one of Australia's most gruesome crimes and becoming the first woman in the country to be sentenced to life imprisonment without the chance of parole. The other would be considered one of the nicest men to live in the town of Carthage, Texas, caring for half the town in their times of despair, and eventually befriending a woman who would lose her life at his hands.

On December 26, after some days of adverse weather, a relief vessel was sent to check on the three men who manned the Eilean Mor Lighthouse. Upon arriving, the relief crew were alarmed that no one came out to greet them. But, what they found once entering the lighthouse would leave historians puzzled for over a decade. Though the exploits of a certain Jack the Ripper had recently become known throughout the world due to the graphic and horrific displaying of his victims, much of the shock stemming from the crimes of H. H. Holmes was due in part to the secrecy in which he carried out the terrible acts of murder. And, when Chicago police raided his home after his arrest in 1895, the rest of the world would soon forget about the Whitechapel Murder and focus their attention on the Horror House of H. H. Holmes. What he did with the leg next would leave many scratching their heads. And, pranks and practical jokes have been around since the beginning of time. Pulling out one's chair as they are about to sit, dousing clothing in itching powder and exploding golf balls never fail to elicit a laugh from most people. Taking advantage of the gullibility of the public can be said to be just as funny. At least, it was to a certain Duke of Montagu. Episode 50 - What Happened to Malaysia Flight 370?

In the early hours of March 8, 2014, Malaysia Flight 370 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia headed for Beijing, China. The pilot was a 53-year-old veteran with years of flying experience under his belt. The plane was a Boeing 777-200ER, considered to be one of the safest at airliners at the time. The 227 passengers and 12 crew were from countries all over the world. Nothing about the night was out of the ordinary. That is until the plane disappeared from radar a little over 45 minutes after take off. And, for the next seven hours, the plane would remain elusive until it vanished completely from the face of the earth. Just what did happen to Malaysia Flight 370? Episode 49 - The Sodder Children

On the night of Christmas Eve 1945, a fire broke out at the home of George and Jennie Sodder. Asleep with them in the home at the time were nine of their ten children. When Jennie awoke to find the house on fire, she called out to her husband to rouse the children. Over the next few moments, confusion and chaos broke out. By the time George and Jennie found themselves standing outside watching their house burn to the ground, they realized five of their children were missing, possibly still in the house. The fate of the children would go down as one of history's most puzzling mysteries. That's Odd Episode 18 - The Ear That Started a War

During the late 1730s, England and Spain were locked in constant conflict over trade routes in the Caribbean. Believing that a war would help the English secure a victory over the Spanish, Parliament looked for any reason they could to make the first move. As it so happened, merchant ship captain Robert Jenkins had an ear for that sort of thing. Also, in the early 1950s, a three year old girl in Sweden begins to insist she is not who her parents think she is. This didn't seem too disturbing until years later when she and her family visited Amsterdam and she was able to navigate the city using memories that should not have existed. Episode 48 - The Pentagon and UFOs

This week, the guys hold a round table to discuss news of the Pentagon releasing information that the United States government had continued to monitor and investigate UFO sightings well into 2012. Spearheaded by Senator Harry Reid, the project is said to be full of "smoking gun" information relating to UFOs and extra-terrestrials, some of which was released to the public in the form of footage from the United States Navy depicting an object being chased by fighter jet pilots. That's Odd Episode 17 - UFOs and Resurrections

Among the many headstones found within the gates of Shankill Church of Ireland Cemetery in the town of Lurgan, Northern Ireland, stands a grave marker with an inscription reading "Margorie McCall - Lived Once, Buried Twice."  The story behind this strange grave marker dates back to the 1700s and is one that would go on to become legend throughout the town. Also, in December of 1958, two men out for a drive in Hoganas, Sweden have a terrifying encounter with "fluid" entities after stopping to investigate a strange object in the nearby woods. Episode 47 - Christmas Crimes

The guys are back with a holiday-themed episode in which they take a look at some of the more bizarre crimes that have taken place on or around Christmas. With stories ranging from a bath salt-crazed anti-Grinch to a Christmas tree that would give Cheech and Chong a wet dream to a disappearing stick-up Santa, Johnny, Chris and Carter bring you a round table discussion marveling at a few of strangest law breakers to make Santa's naughty list. 

That's Odd Episode 16 - A Sticky Thing

Throughout history, great floods have destroyed villages, towns and cities. Every kid who has ever gone to church or Sunday school knows about Noah and the Great Flood. Natural disasters are nothing new to mankind. However, what happens when the flood is man made, and furthermore, not even water? Also, in the 1960s and 70s, a rash of UFO sightings and strange phenomena plagued the sleepy town of Warminster, England. Flocks of dead birds, crop circles, weird lights and tremors were just a few of the bizarre events reported by the locals. Just what was it that terrified the residents of Warminster? And, why do Bostonians say their town smells like molasses? Join Johnny and Chris as they explore some of the weirder stories in history on this episode of That's Odd!

Episode 46 - Curse of the Crying Boy

This week, the curse has struck again! But not to be held down, Chris brings another special "Curse Edition" of History Creeps. This week, he's joined by his wife Erin as they delve into the Curse of the Crying Boy Paintings. When Bruno Amadio first painted his crying children to sell to tourists in 1950s Venice, little did he know that decades later the pieces would become the focal point of a sinister curse that was rumored to leave the homes of anyone who owned a painting in ashes. Were these paintings of crying children really cursed? Or was this a ploy by a tabloid to sell more papers? Check out this special "Curse Edition" of History Creeps and decide for yourself!
